Peko-chan's visit to Gatineau, Canada begins! - March 18th-20th 2020
While Tiny, Pinky and Melody were abroad, Peko-chan, from Japan, came to visit Gatineau. She arrived on March 18th, just before the Canadian authorities started closing businesses down and telling people to stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Peko-chan met new feline friends, got to stay in a fairy tale castle, walked along St. Joseph's boulevard, went with her host to stock up on cat food, visited her host workplace (where she admired the view from the 10th floor), ate peanut butter toasts for breakfast, played in the snow and helped her host color a pretty picture and decorate an Easter card for her nephews!
Meeting new feline friends :
With Bailey :
And Merlin :
Looking out the living room window with her new friend Quinn (the cats' favorite hobby!) :
Staying in a pink fairy tale castle and pretending she's a princess! :
Walking towards the bus stop and catching a bus to go to the office with her host :
The sidewalks were still a bit icy and treachery :
The bus stop :
On the bus! There was a big X to prevent people from geting too close to the bus driver and possibly infecting him with COVID-19. People also had to board the bus using the back door instead of the front door, and they weren't many passengers :
Recycling bins, compost bins and garbage bins (Peko-chan wanted to take a picture because they all said ``Property of the city of Gatineau`` on them. She tought that it would make an original souvenir!) :
Walking along St. Joseph boulevard, one of the main commercial arteries :
Stocking up on cat food at the veterinary clinic, with her host :
Visiting her host workplace (and admiring the view from the 10th floor) :
The kitchen was decorated for St. Patrick's Day!
In the host's workplace kitchen, there is always a colouring book page that people take turn colouring, as a collective project. Peko-chan added her touch to it!
Enjoying peanut butter toasts and fruits for breakfast (with tea) - her host's favorite breakfast :
Playing in the snow :
And even trying to make snow angels!
Helping her host color a pretty picture and decorate an Easter card for her nephews :
