Melody says farewell to new friends – March 2020



Soon after arriving in Linden, New Jersey, Melody had to bid farewell to Peko-chan and Jana the Fox, who were leaving for new adventures abroad! She had a fun time talking to Peko-chan, who was soon heading to Gatineau, Canada, to reside with Melody's human, and telling her all about Gatineau and winters in Canada!

On Saturday May 23rd, 2020, the host decided to take Peko-chan and Supergirl on another long walk. She thought that she may even be able to take them as far as downtown Ottawa by foot, but unfortunately her iPod's battery died on the way, so she could not take pictures... Still, Peko-chan and Supergirl got to see a neat tourist area of the old Hull. As for downtown Ottawa, the host told them that she would try to take them there later, especially since the bridges between Ottawa and Gatineau had just reopened. Tiny in Bangkok, Thailand - Late October 2019

Tiny was given a Thai name, Jidrid ("tiny" in Thai), by his host in Bangkok, who took him out for lunch and then to an antique and fair market and to a K-pop fair. He also had the opportunity to check out the Bangkok subway! Here's what his host (Medileen) sent me : Day 1 - October 25th 2019 "Finally, Tiny just arrived from Canada. It's a bit hard for him because of the weather here. I told him that it's autumn but he never knew kind of autumn in Thailand. It's about 95F. I took him for the first lunch in Thailand. It's called Pepper lunch. The raw meat with vegetables and rice are placed on the hot plates, that you can cook them with sauce and pepper before you eat it. The meat and its taste can be whatever depending on your preference. This is Tiny and I've got a thai name! The host called me 'Jidrid' it means Tiny in Thai." Ottawa in winter

Of course, in Canada, there's also winter. Here's a few photos of what winter looks like here. This photo shows the side of St. Andrew's Presbytherian church (http://www.standrewsottawa.ca/who-we-are/the-building/). It is located downtown and is a beautiful church! I used to pass it on my way to work every single day. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of the Scots (a lot of settlers of Canada came from Scotland), so this church has a "Scottish" personnality and the Scotland flag floats above the church entrance. One can attend organ concerts for free there during the summer and the church also holds fantastic bazaars in the Spring and in the Fall. This photo shows the Supreme Court of Canada, on Wellington street, just in front of St. Andrew's church.
