Peko-chan and Supergirl go see the pont de la tour Eiffel and the ruisseau de la Brasserie - May 23rd, 2020

On Saturday May 23rd, 2020, the host decided to take Peko-chan and Supergirl on another long walk. She thought that she may even be able to take them as far as downtown Ottawa by foot, but unfortunately her iPod's battery died on the way, so she could not take pictures... Still, Peko-chan and Supergirl got to see a neat tourist area of the old Hull. As for downtown Ottawa, the host told them that she would try to take them there later, especially since the bridges between Ottawa and Gatineau had just reopened.

First, the host had to go get prescriptions as the drugstore:

The building with a tower and a green roof that can be seen in the distance is the Parliament of Canada!:

The old train station (the train doesn't run through Hull anymore), which had been converted into a workshop and exhibition place for a group of artists:

The "pont de la tour Eiffel" (Eiffel Tower Bridge).

From Wikipedia : "The Tour Eiffel Bridge, also known as the Montcalm Street Bridge is a small but ornate bridge in GatineauQuebec. There had long been a bridge across Brewery Creek, but by the 1980s it needed to be replaced. Hull and the National Capital Commission were working to turn the Brewery Creek area into a tourist and cultural district. It was decided to build an ornate structure. Incorporated in the bridge was an original steel girder from the Eiffel Tower, that had been part of a recently disassembled staircase. The girder was donated to Hull by Paris mayor Jacques Chirac. Architects Paul Martineau and Eric Haar modeled the bridge on Parisian style. It opened in 1990."

The "ruisseau de la brasserie" (brewery creek):

From Wikipedia : "Ruisseau de la Brasserie[1] (English: Brewery Creek) is a small creek that forms the northern and western shores of Île Hull. It circles the downtown of the Hull sector, of GatineauQuebec. It runs into the Ottawa River just west of downtown Hull. Running west of Montcalm Street it turns east north of the highway, running up to Jacques Cartier Park where it rejoins the Ottawa River. Originally it was at the heart of Hull's industrial sector, with a number of factories. This included several breweries, from which it gets its name. In the 1980s the area was refurbished by the National Capital Commission. The former water works on a small island in the creek became the Théâtre de l'Île and the Montcalm Street Bridge was replaced by the ornate Tour Eiffel Bridge. Its pollution removed, it has become a popular location for birders."

New high-end condo buildings facing the ruisseau de la Brasserie:

This building used to house a Thai restaurant. After the restaurant closed, the City of Gatineau bought the building, painted it in bright colours and converted it into an emerging artist workshop. Peko-chan and Supergirl thought that it looked really cool and had fun posing for photos:
