Peko-chan helps her host paint a window mural - March 23rd to 27th 2020

Peko-chan spent last week helping her host complete a large project : paint a large mural over her living room window : First, they had to wash off the previous window mural, that had been there for several months already : Finally, after a lot of scrubbing, a squeaky clean window! Then, they started painting, and after several hours of work (over 3 days), the mural was finished! That's what it looks like from the inside : And that's what it looks from the outside, to someone standing on the sidewalk : A lot of people have been stopping in front of the house, pointing at the mural, smiling and waving! It helps brighten other people's mood and Peko-chan is glad that she could contribute to this project! In Canada, people have been painting or drawing rainbows and displaying them in their windows as a message of hope - that's why Peko-chan and her host integrated a rainbow in their painting. Peko-chan goes for a walk - March 25th 2020

This morning, the sun was shining very brightly through the living room window, so the cats decided to do what they always do when that happens: lay down on the floor and sun bathe! Peko-chan decided to join them. She said it was very nice, almost like being at the beach! A nice treat in winter! In the evening, the host decided that since they had been cooped up inside for 4 days, she would take Peko-chan on her walk in her neighbourhood. They took a lot of pictures! The Hull hospital (Hull is the name of the part of Gatineau that the host lives in) A large daycare An elderly residence Peko-chan tought that it would be fun to stand in a bus shelter and pretend to wait for the bus. This is an ad for the city of Gatineau. There are several of them all through the town. It says ``Gatineau for life``. This is an ad for the local college. Melody's host went all out decorating for Easter and put out many wonderful decorations! Melody was so impressed! People in Canada rarely decorate that much, especially since Spring is often barely beginning at Easter time.
