Peko-chan and Supergirl - Miscellaneous - May 5th and 6th 2020

On Saturday May 2nd, the host had to take one of her cats to the vet. She decided to walk over there and took the girls along. They took a few more pictures of the Lac-des-Fées pathway :




This colorful house really popped out!

This is the section of the pathway that runs behind the host's house and that she, helped by Peko-chan and Supergirl, cleaned during the Easter weekend :


The host found the destroyed and dirty head and torso of a broken plastic doll on the ground and took it home so she could clean it and maybe do something with it. She looked for other things to complete it in her box of trash pieces, and assembled them together :


Here's the final result: a weird, slightly creepy, Spring totem!


The next day, the girls very excitedly spotted a wild baby rabbit on the front lawn! It was tiny - roughly the size of a tennis ball, and soooo cute!



They also spotted a broken piece of shell from a robin's egg. Isn't this a beautiful blue?

Ivan and Masha in Canada - Summer outings - August 2020

Ivan and Masha were able to join their host on several nice outings in August: One nice Friday evening, after work, the host decided to take Masha and Ivan on a pizza picnic at the park. First, they went to Pizza Pizza, a fast food chain, to buy and small pizza, a can of Coke and a small bag of chips, and then they headed to the Domaine Fairview to eat quietly in nature while reading a magazine. The next day, the host took Ivan and Masha to a free concert in a local park by a classical music group that plays Tango Nuevo (mainly music composed by Astor Piazzola).  Afterwards, they went and toured the outdoors Recycl'Art exhibition, by the side of Brewery Creek. They enjoyed looking at the various sculptures made by local artists using recycled materials: Details of the giant high heel shoe shown below, that was made using thousands of pop can tabs weaved together (apparently, the artist worked on that project for several years!). Pinky's adventures in the subway and at the museum in Moscow – Late November 2019

Pinky is still in Moscow, where she is having a really great time with her host Anastasia! Here's an account of her latest adventures : « Hi! I took Pinky to explore the Russian subway! :) On our way to the Moscow museum, we visited Парк победы (Park pobedy - Victory park), Киевская (Kiyevskaya - well, two of them on different lines) and Парк культуры (Park kultury - Culture park). Moscow Metro was opened in 1935. It consisted of 13 stations and only one line. It was the first ever subway in the Soviet Union. This time we visited one of the deepest stations in the world - Park pobedy. Although, we didn't witness the escalator because we only went there for the transition to another line... Fact: Moscow Metro is one of the busiest ones in the world! I think the most crowded station I usually go to is Kiyevskaya because it's also a train station to the Oblast' (the Suburbs). Peko-chan and Supergirl go see the pont de la tour Eiffel and the ruisseau de la Brasserie - May 23rd, 2020

On Saturday May 23rd, 2020, the host decided to take Peko-chan and Supergirl on another long walk. She thought that she may even be able to take them as far as downtown Ottawa by foot, but unfortunately her iPod's battery died on the way, so she could not take pictures... Still, Peko-chan and Supergirl got to see a neat tourist area of the old Hull. As for downtown Ottawa, the host told them that she would try to take them there later, especially since the bridges between Ottawa and Gatineau had just reopened.
