Tiny in Bangkok, Thailand - Late October 2019


Tiny was given a Thai name, Jidrid ("tiny" in Thai), by his host in Bangkok, who took him out for lunch and then to an antique and fair market and to a K-pop fair. He also had the opportunity to check out the Bangkok subway!

Here's what his host (Medileen) sent me :

Day 1 - October 25th 2019

"Finally, Tiny just arrived from Canada. It's a bit hard for him because of the weather here. I told him that it's autumn but he never knew kind of autumn in Thailand. It's about 95F. :o

I took him for the first lunch in Thailand. It's called Pepper lunch. The raw meat with vegetables and rice are placed on the hot plates, that you can cook them with sauce and pepper before you eat it. The meat and its taste can be whatever depending on your preference.

This is Tiny and I've got a thai name! The host called me 'Jidrid' it means Tiny in Thai."





Day 2 - October 26th 2019


"This day is actually too hot to being outside, but we're going to the antique and vintage mall anyway.

The mall was called 'DD Mall' located on Chatuchak, Bangkok. It's the red building that surrounded by a huge vintage flea market and in the building was full of antique things for sell.


Tiny has fun while searching something for the next host. 


It's good to walk around. Every shop in the building was actually good in decorations! We can see different style with a good taste but too bad most of them are no cameras allowed.


An old-fashion gachapon. About 40-50 years ago, It was really popular. We can find them in the local store since there were no convenience store in Thai. It's cost about 5-10 THB (10-30 cents) to win the different price; tiny toys, gummy, tiny accessories, coins and banknotes and up to really golden ring.

The cliche romance story about gachapon was kind of the boys saving their money for gachapon everyday to win a golden ring (actually plastic ring is also included) and then they will give it to their girlfriend.

Tiny also got 2 eggs for Geneviève and his next host. Please looking forward to it.

This is Tiny and the MRT Underground train's entrance. I've learned that in Thai they called subway as 'Rod-Fai-Faa-Dhai-Din'.

The weather was hotter than yesterday. "I'm actually burned. It's burning my legs. Now burn baby burn" the host murmured while we run away from MRT to the mall.

Tomorrow the host will take me to travel around BKK again. Really excited :bouncy:"

Day 3 - October 27th 2019


"On this day I took Jidrid aka. Tiny to k-pop fair. There are a lot of art and fanmade goods. He have learnt a lot about asia pop cultures."




 Day 4 – October 28th 2019

"The metro mall is located on the Underground train station. There are a lot of food and lifestyle. Their interior is different in each station."

Ivan and Masha were able to join their host on several nice outings in August: One nice Friday evening, after work, the host decided to take Masha and Ivan on a pizza picnic at the park. First, they went to Pizza Pizza, a fast food chain, to buy and small pizza, a can of Coke and a small bag of chips, and then they headed to the Domaine Fairview to eat quietly in nature while reading a magazine. Ivan and Masha explore the touristic area of downtown Ottawa - August 1st 2020 (part 1)

On Saturday August 1st, 2020, their host took Ivan and Masha to visit Ottawa. The Byward Market area : Since they are on their honeymoon, Ivan and Masha threw a coin in this fountain and wished for a long and happy life together! On Sussex Drive (it's the street on which the official prime minister's residence’s is located!) : The American embassy : A nice display on the front window of a hat maker : Standing inside the Reconciliation monument (in honor of Canadian Peacekeepers) : The National Art Gallery : Maman (mommy), by sculptor Louise Bourgeois, the giant spider that stands guard in front of the National Art Gallery. In Summer, it gets all warm from the sun! The Ottawa Cathedral : Electric scooters have just been introduced in Ottawa. People can rent them, and leave them wherever when they are done with them.
