Pinky in Dubai (on her way back from the Maldives) - Day 1 - Late December 2019

On their way back to Moscow from the Maldives, Anastasia and Pinky had the opportunity to spend a few days in Dubai!

"Hi! Today was our first day in Dubai, UAE.
The flight took us 3:30 and we were mostly sleeping even though it wasn’t a night flight. We arrived rather late but luckily the subway was still working and we got to the hotel by train! Interesting fact: there are different kinds of cabins in Dubai subway: regular (preferably for men), one for women and children and the gold class cabin. It costs more but it’s very comfortable and there are no crowds there. We travel in the last type of cabins. I’ll try to make a picture of it but I find it awkward to take photos when there are people in the cabin... Trains of Dubai subway are completely automatic so as you can see in one of the pictures you can feel as if you were the driver!
Dubai architecture is very modern in the center of the city. When you go outside, you find yourself surrounded by skyscrapers! Though when you go further from the center, you see plain one-floor houses or regular city buildings.
Our first touristic place to visit was Palm Jumeirah. It’s a human-made island. There are several of them in Dubai: three Palms, the World, the Universe. It’s possible to travel about Jumeirah by monorail. But firstly, we got to the monorail station by tram. Its gold cabin was so luxurious, haha! Even the subway gold cabin can’t compare! The most famous landmark of the palm island is the hotel Atlantis. Everyone wanted to take pictures of it so there was a crowd in the first monorail’s cabin! I could capture it only on our way back. We stayed on the island a bit, bought coffee and hot chocolate, explored the local mall.
On some of the pictures from the island you can see me and Pinky photographed by my mom. It’s cute :) You can see the joy in our eyes!
Later, we went to the famous among our family Day to day shop. When we were to Dubai for the first time, one of my grandmas went there and bought a lot of things. And after years we decided to go there ourselves! Well, it’s not a good shop, there are lots of people and cheap things but we bought some quite good quality souvenirs. On our way to Day to day, we stopped at my favorite Dubai subway station - BurJuman which is decorated with giant jellyfish lights!
When we got home, we saw the beautiful sunset sky.
Can’t wait till tomorrow! I’m sure Pinky does too! :)
Have a lovely day,
Nastya."
