Pinky in Dubai – Day 3 – Late December 2019

Image
Dubai, Day 3 - Burj Khalifa! Another tall building (the tallest of the world!) and another day of discoveries for Anastasia and Pinky! "Our next day destination was firstly Burj Khalifa - the HIGHEST building in the whole world! It's 828 meters ( 2,717 ft)  high! It became in 2009 and still remains the tallest men-built structure! The design of Burj Khalifa was inspired by a flower - Hymenocallis. It really does look like a flower if you look from the top to its bottom. The construction of the tower began in 2004 and in 2010 it was opened for everyone to visit (if you pay and stay in the infinite line!). But first, we had some doughnuts including a special one - Red Velvet Cake Doughnut. I just found out it's from the US and I actually didn't know it because we don't have any in Russia. Well, it was very unique for me! Red Velvet cakes are everywhere in Dubai - in any cafe you go to. Unfortunately, I didn't like it... but I think Pinky did! The observ

Dubai, Day 2 : Anastasia and Pinky toured the Frame, a fascinating building with a great view! As told by Anastasia : "Our second place of interest was the Dubai Frame - an observation point. In one of the pictures, you can see it from afar. It's fascinating! And the best part of it is that you can go up to the top of the Frame and see the city from the 50th floor! I live on the 21st floor so Pinky is getting used to such heights but 50 floors?! What kind of futuristic building is that?! Haha! After we bought our tickets, we didn't have time to walk around and immediately went to the Frame. Inside there was a little museum on the way to the elevators dedicated to the culture of UAE. What Pinky loved the most is the thrilling feeling you get when you see the glass floor. Every tourist literally falls on their knees and, well, takes pictures! So did we! From the Frame, you can observe the city but not its center with skyscrapers. They are a few metro stations

Pinky in Dubai (on her way back from the Maldives) - Day 1 - Late December 2019

On their way back to Moscow from the Maldives, Anastasia and Pinky had the opportunity to spend a few days in Dubai! "Hi! Today was our first day in Dubai, UAE.  The flight took us 3:30 and we were mostly sleeping even though it wasn’t a night flight. We arrived rather late but luckily the subway was still working and we got to the hotel by train! Interesting fact: there are different kinds of cabins in Dubai subway: regular (preferably for men), one for women and children and the gold class cabin. It costs more but it’s very comfortable and there are no crowds there. We travel in the last type of cabins. I’ll try to make a picture of it but I find it awkward to take photos when there are people in the cabin... Trains of Dubai subway are completely automatic so as you can see in one of the pictures you can feel as if you were the driver! Dubai architecture is very modern in the center of the city. When you go outside, you find yourself surrounded by skyscrapers! Though

Pinky in the Madives: even more adventures! Late December 2019

While in the Maldives with Anastasia, Pinky took part in an elf workshop where she decorated an eco-bag and a few Christmas ornaments. I'm sure that she enjoyed that very much! She also went to see a man feeding fishes in the sea. It must have been pretty impressive! Here are the messages and the photos sent by Anastasia : "Hi! :) Today has been raining a lot but in the morning when it was sunny Pinky and I went a Christmas event - Elf Workshop! It took place in a bar next to our villa. In the workshop we made some toys for Christmas tree and an eco bag! I’m not an artist but Pinky helped me and I think her work was amazing. Well, the bag turned out messy but my family supported our creativity! Pinky was happy to hear nice words. We also talked to the workers of the hotel and it brought us joy. The staff was so sweet!  I didn’t take the picture of this side of the toy, but I drew a golden fish. I was asked what culture it was from and I decided I’d tell you

Pinky in the Maldives - 2nd week of December 2019

Pinky took an enchanting walk while on her trip to the Maldives with her friend and host Anastasia. She got to appear on several wonderful pictures showing stunning plants, flowers and landscapes. She even met a local hermit crab resident and went on a sunset boat tour! I'm so happy and grateful that she had the opportunity to travel to such a magnificent place and experience all these things! It's so different from Canada! Here's the latest message that I received from Nastya about their vacation in this little paradise : "Hi! Sorry I didn’t write to you for so long. It’s just I’m so used to the Maldives for we go here every year that I didn’t find my days interesting enough to share them with Pinky! Though today  I thought: well, it’s Pinky’s first time on the islands so why don’t I spend my walk with her she must find it thrilling and exciting. I hope she did. I needed to send some postcards to my family and friends so I went for a walk to the reception. It
