The "fairies" neighbourhood - May 10th, 2020

Image
The host took Peko-chan and Supergirl on a walk in the neighbourhood that borders the Lac des Fées (Fairies' lake), which is one of the lakes of the Gatineau Park. The neighbourhood itself is nothing special, but the streets were all given names of mythical and magical creatures, so the girls had a lot of fun walking around and marvelling at all the whimsical street names! Merlin Street (Merlin is also the name of one of the host's cats!:-): Sprites street: Unicorn street!: Sprites park, at the corner of Fairies street and Sprites street: The girls were ecstatic when they spotted the friendly cat that they had met a few weeks ago, on the Lac-des-Fées Pathway. When the host called it, it once again ran right to her to rub against her and be petted. It was very nice! The girls posed for a picture on a play structure. The park was closed, but they figured that didn't apply to toys! Still, they didn't stay for too long, just in case... Another city

Miscelleanous pictures taken during the month of May 2020 : Peko-chan and Supergirl posing behind wild strawberry plants that grow everywhere over the host's yard. At the end of June, the tiny strawberries will be ripe and ready to be picked up! Yum! :-) In the meantime, there are a ton of very pretty white and yellow flowers: The catholic church that is located just a short walk from the host's house. It has a very unique architecture and has a special heritage designation: The host has a neighbour that thinks that real flowers are too much trouble. So, instead, each Spring, he puts up fake flowers in front of his house to brighten it up. Peko-chan and Supergirl taught that it would be amusing to pose for a picture in front of them, just as they did for real flowers. Since the confinement began, the host learned and invented several new recipes, which Peko-chan and Supergirl were happy to help her cook: Oatmeal, apples and cranberry cookies: Peko-chan
