Gatineau Park

Gatineau Park (or Parc de la Gatineau in French) is a large national park located in Gatineau, where I live. It spans kilometers upon kilometers of land right in the city and contains several lakes, beaches, mountains, bike paths, walkways. People go there to hike, cycle, swim and bathe in summer, and to hike, snowshoe and ski in the winter. It's a wonderful place!

Of course, in Canada, there's also winter. Here's a few photos of what winter looks like here. This photo shows the side of St. Andrew's Presbytherian church (http://www.standrewsottawa.ca/who-we-are/the-building/). It is located downtown and is a beautiful church! I used to pass it on my way to work every single day. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of the Scots (a lot of settlers of Canada came from Scotland), so this church has a "Scottish" personnality and the Scotland flag floats above the church entrance. One can attend organ concerts for free there during the summer and the church also holds fantastic bazaars in the Spring and in the Fall. This photo shows the Supreme Court of Canada, on Wellington street, just in front of St. Andrew's church. Ivan and Masha in Ottawa-Gatineau - Exploring the Sentier des voyageurs - July 25th 2020

Saturday July 25th was a beautiful day, so the host decided to take Ivan and Masha on a bike ride to explore the Sentier des voyageurs (Travellers Pathway), that runs along the Ottawa River, on Gatineau's side. They ended up travelling 20 km in total (both ways)! It was the longest ride that the host had been on since she buying her new bike! :-) On the way over to the Sentier des voyageurs, the host showed Ivan and Masha the ruisseau de la Brasserie (Brewery Creek -  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruisseau_de_la_Brasserie ) as well as the pont de la Tour Eiffel (Tour Eiffel bridge -  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tour_Eiffel_Bridge ). Pinky in Paris (with Anastasia) - January 2020

DAY 1   We went to Paris with our friend whom we'd met a long time ago because our dogs are the same rather rare in Russia breed (whippets). She's very nice and funny! Our first flight was to Riga, Latvia but we didn't stay there, only wandered about the airport for 4 hours and bought A LOT of local souvenirs, haha... Then we finally were on the way to Paris. Our hotel was very small but cozy. Though our room was placed right ON the stairs. At first, we walked up to the second floor but didn't find it. We were confused when we noticed a door in the middle of the stairway. It was our room! During the whole trip we were filled with adrenaline trying to get inside it! Our first day was chill. Our friend forgot her laptop charger and since she went there without getting leave she really needed to buy one. The shop turned out to be very far from us and we decided to make our first day a walk to the needed place. We spent 7 hours on that! Well, we weren't in a hurry ...
